Matthew F. Weil

Matthew joined Christopher Weil & Company, Inc. in January 2009 after nearly two decades litigating intellectual property matters, principally patents. He is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative in a firm of investors~managers~advisors. Matthew advises on how to achieve and maintain sustainable economic independence. He also serves as General Counsel for CWC Asset Advisors, Inc.

Before joining WEIL, Matthew was a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. He was a past President of the Orange County Patent Law Association and a current Director of The Preuss School UC San Diego and the Patricia & Christopher Weil Family Foundation. He also serves on the boards of Photometics, Inc. and Fresca Medical Inc., two for-profit companies. He formerly served on the board of Vessix Vascular, Inc. and Niveus Medical, Inc.

Matthew has a BA in History and Russian Language from the University of California, Davis, a Masters in Political Science from Columbia University, and a J.D. from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and is fluent in Russian. He and his wife live in Carmel Valley and have a college-aged daughter.
